Patients with Parkinsons find Dance

A great NPR story on Parkinsons and Dance:

TAke COver Dance SeriesThe 954 Dance Movement Collective of Philadelphia is accepting submissions for its TAKE COVER Dance series where we ask choreographers to submit new work using original/interesting covers of songs for short dance works. Have fun with it. The goal of this project is to highlight irreverent aspects of dance. Accepted artists will also receive 8 hours of free rehearsal space. The TAKE COVER performance series will take place at our low-tech 1140 sq foot studio October 2010. There is an 8 minute maximum-length for each final work. Interested artists should send an email to 954dmc[at] with a cover letter describing their proposed new work, their resume and links of 2 short examples of their work, not more than 20 minutes combined. These work samples can be excerpts of longer works. If links are unavailable, feel free to drop off your application package with work sample to the studio. Submission Deadline: August 2, 2010
